The Cobra and EV Battery Fire Course is a theoretical course that equips you with the knowledge and skills to safely and effectively plan and carry out firefighting operations involving electric vehicles with propagating Li-ion battery fires. The course can be delivered on-site at your location or as e-learning. The on-site course is conducted in groups of up to 25 participants to encourage questions and discussions. This course is tailored for incident commanders, officers, instructors, firefighters, and professionals from other relevant fields.
Key Learning Outcomes:
- Understand Li-ion Battery Fires: Explore batteries’ geometry, chemistry, and fire behaviour to grasp how these fires develop.
- Risk Management: Learn about the potential risks associated with battery fires and explain ways to assess and mitigate them.
- Preventing Propagation: Study strategies to prevent fire propagation and thermal runaway in Li-ion battery fires.
- Firefighting Tactics: Gain insight into the tactics, organisation, and recommended resources for extinguishing electric vehicle fires involving batteries.
- Cobra Tool Expertise: Develop the skills to plan and use Cobra as the primary firefighting tool for propagating Li-ion battery fires.
