We have invited several exciting speakers from the Fire and Rescue Service to our stand. They will give you a customer’s perspective on Cobra, the Cobra Method and training.

Bernie Higgins
Bernie is a hugely experienced former Fire Service Principal Officer having served in the London Fire Brigade for 34 years. Bernie has a strong training background having been a trainer as well as managing training within London Fire Brigade at both middle manager and Principal Officer levels. Bernie now runs his own consultancy business and works with Cold Cut Systems. He became a director of the Fire Industry Association in November 2019 and chairs the Fire and Rescue Service Equipment Suppliers (FIRESA) Council. Bernie also chairs British Standards Committee FSH/17 which oversees British Standards related to firefighting equipment. Bernie first became aware of Cobra in 2011 and he has remained a keen advocate of its use ever since. Bernie has a first class honours degree in psychology, in his spare time he enjoys long distance hiking, playing tennis and reading.
Timo Eichler
Timo works, as Head of Guard department and Fire Officer at Cuxhaven Professional Fire Brigade. Timo is trained in First Entry Office for career group 2, specializing in the Fire Brigade. He is also a Ship Firefighter, Control Centre Dispatcher, Paramedic, Height Rescuer, Cobra Operator since 2011, Cobra Instructor since 2018 and Cobra Senior Instructor since 2022. Timo has a special interest in how to improve the safety of Fire and Rescue Services through new procedures and tactics. In his spare time, he likes to play team sports such as soccer and handball.
Martin Fuchs
Martin Fuchs has almost 30 years of experience from the Fire and Rescue Service in Wuppertal and works at the Fire Academy. He is responsible for education and training in firefighting and technical rescue. Martin is a trained crew commander and firefighting instructor. The first contact with Cobra was already in 2003 when Cobra was demonstrated in Germany for the first time. The same year Cuxhaven bought their first Cobra. Martin is interested in travelling, particularly to Cobra’s birth country Sweden.
