This guidance aims to develop emergency services’ knowledge and understanding of lithium ion batteries, electric vehicles and other lithium-ion battery-powered applications. The guidance is based on the current state of knowledge in the area in 2023. The guidance concerns the cause, handling and response methodology for lithium-ion batteries involved in a fire.
